Okta Login Username Format

Hi,

from this article is seems the username has to be setup in an email format

https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Directory/ldap-configure-integration-settings.htm

I'm wondering if there's a way of not having in the email format? (e.g. Login: 1234 instead of Login:1234@domain.com)

From the screenshot below I see that the user name to login to Okta could be in "Custom" format. I would like to confirm that. "1234" could actually be a the Login. Also, if "1234" could be as the custom login, would that affect the "delegated authentication" ?

Thanks

More of a comment than an answer, but when our AD accounts are imported, the Okta username is mapped to the userprincipalname in AD. This allows our users to sign into Okta by entering just their AD samaccountname and password. This works as long as the user's samaccountname is a unique value throughout your Okta org.
