utami (utami) asked a question.

Setting up new authentication server recommended for integration test?

We are using Okta as our authentication for another system. To create an integration test, we are wondering if creating a new authentication server and client is the recommended way? If not, what do you recommend to test this authentication?

What kind of Authentication are you trying to test? Most cases will not require an additional authentication server for testing purposes as it can usually be tested using test accounts and test users but more detail can help us provide a better answer.

Hi Cody. We are trying to set up a test that tests our integration with Okta (where Okta is being used for authentication of our application). The integration itself is using an Authentication server with an app set up with access to this server. For the test we are wondering if we should create another Authentication server. Does this help clarify? Thank you for your help! I appreciate it.

You shouldn't need an additional authentication server to perform these tests. This can be done with the current authentication server and using test users and test applications. If you run into any issues during the testing then you can always create a support case with Okta Customer Support.
