8 and 9 couldn't be introduced in the secret key

Hi,

My collegues tried to log into the app, but when they tried to introduce the username and the secret key, for secret key they are not able to write "8" and "9". All other characters and numbers are allowed. It doesn't matter if 8 or 9 are in the middle or at the end of the secret key.

Is there any problem regarding the app?

Thanks,

Bogdan

  • Hello Bogdan,

The username and secret key is generated by the Okta System automatically when you're enrolling in Okta Verify and are unable to scan the barcode. 8's and 9's are not in the secret key that is automatically generated.

If you're attempting to enter 8's or 9's because they're part of the password that you use with your Okta Account, then that is not expected to work because the password and passkey are two different things. If you were attempting to login to Okta, then try using Okta Mobile instead of Okta Verify, as that app will let you login with your username and password. However, if you're attempting to access Okta Verify tokens that were previously on your phone but have since been removed, then please contact your IT Department to have your Okta Verify Token reset, or check out these instructions: https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/Resetting-your-Okta-Verify-Token

Let us know if this helps!

    Thanks!
