How do I get an application to appear in the Okta Application list even though they are assigned?

We have a user that is already been assigned to an application but it does not appear in his Okta application list nor in the web version of Okta. We have sent him the direct link to the application where he was able to interact and access, this shows that he was successfully assigned and given the correct permission. Although he can't see the application in either browsers and we have already tried clearing the internet cache but that did not help. Any ideas?

    I have a few initial questions to try and debug this issue:

    • Can any of the other authorised users see this app on the dashboard?
    • What type of SSO integration does the app use e.g. SAML, OIDC?
    • can the app be invoked via service provider initiated SSO, and/or IDP initiated SSO?

      Hello Stephen,

      We also receive another report from a User losing the application icon from the dashboard.

       

      1. Yes other users that are authorize are able to see the application in the dashboard.
      2. We are currently using SAML for the SSO Integration.
      3. How can I invoke the app via service provider (Initated SSO, IDP) ?
