  • Vlad here with Okta's Customer Support Team, thank you for reaching out to us.

I'm not sure I completely understand your question.

If you're trying to switch the MFA app from one phone to another, you'll need to perform an MFA reset for your account and then enroll again scanning the QR code with the new phone.

f you are unable to login because you are required to use multifactor and your only enrolled multifactor method is Okta Verify, follow the bellow steps:

    • If you are able to log into Okta using a different factor:
    1. Click your Name on the dashboard
    2. Select Settings
    3. Scroll to Extra Verification
    4. Select Remove
    5. Follow the enrollment process to enroll the new device (or to re-enroll a device restored from backup)

Note: If Okta Verify was restored on your device from backup, you may need to remove accounts from the Okta Verify application:

    • On iOS devices:
    1. Open the Okta Verify application on your device
      1. Select Edit
      2. Select the Red icon next to the account
      3. Tap Delete
    • On Android Devices
    1. Open the Okta Verify application on your device
      1. Tap the three dots to the right of the account(s) and tap Delete

If the issue you're encountering is related to a different aspect of switching phones, please open a support ticket and we'll be happy to help.

    Have a great day!
