Multitenancy: Can a group be assigned a tenant's claims, such as tenantId?

Hello,

We have a multitenant web application. For each tenant, we create a group in Okta, and assign the authorized users for the tenant to the group. For example, a group named "Customer1" has three users assigned to it.

What I'd like to do is assign the tenant's unique id value to the group, so when one of the group's members logs in, the tenantId can be extracted from the token and the proper data will be used.

I understand how I can add custom claims to each user, but it would require assigning the information about the user's tenant for each of them. Is there a way to make this work on a group of users?

Thank you for your interest and time,

Mike
