csrcn (csrcn) asked a question.

token reset

Hello,

Sometimes, our users get a strange behavior from MS Outlook. After a password reset, Outlook opens normally and shows a "Trying to connect" error. If you double click the error, Outlook starts connecting to the Exchange server but stops and asks you to send to your phone the MFA code.

You receive the code, you set it into the field and... nothing happens, still locked in the same error.

Usually, in our system, Outlook doesn't ask for MFA even if you reset your password, so that I think the problem is that the Okta token that grants the communication between Outlook and Exchange was not renewed.

Is there a procedure to reset the token?

Thanks

  • Hi Mauro,

I would really recommend opening a support ticket with us in order to better investigate the flow and provide the best solution for you. By the sound of it this does not have anything to do with the token since with the federation active all authentication should be direct to Okta.

    Thank you.
