Slack integration

Hello,

I enabled Slack SSO in Okta but when I enable provisioning to create Slack user automatically when created in Okta, I have this error :

Automatic provisioning of user test-slack test-slack to app Slack failed: Error while creating user test-slack@xxx.com: Errors during execution: Error executing createNewUser: Conflict. Errors reported by the connector : {"Errors":{"description":"username_taken (username=test-slack)","code":409}}. Error Code: null

Can you help me to resolve this issue please ?

Regards,

Hi Guilliaume as the error states, the username is already taken, either by an active or deactivated user in Slack. Please try to change the username and retry the task.

    that should fix it.

    Thank you for the help.

I changed the assignment username and the user was created in Slack. But I had no test-slack user even disabled. I saw I have a channel test-slack. Can this channel name create the conflict ?

    Hi Guillaume,

I've not tried with usernames before, but Slack User Groups and Slack Channels cannot share the same name, so I assume the same is true for usernames.

    Hope that helps,

    Chris

    Hi All.

New to Okta and new to Slack integrations as well, but I had/have a similar question. Recently began managing a system with 21 similar errors to the original posting. Are the "usernames" unique to the enterprise instance, or slack itself? Meaning, can I have a "john.doe" for XYZ Company and a "john.doe" for ACME Company?

    Thanks,

    Chris
