GregH.00578 (Customer) asked a question.

Adding OU in AD

We have a partner company with a separate AD. Users are all AD mastered via agents. They want to add an entirely new set of users (sub-company) and have created a new OU for them. When I try to select that OU for user import under Directory Integrations > Settings, I get warnings about "Changing OUs will deactivate all users not in the OU......"

I'm not changing, I'm just adding an additional user OU. How can I add the new users?

Van is correct, and you can click Save with confidence. That warning comes up every time you make any changes to your OU selections, but it's really only warning that if you have de-selected any OUs, the user accounts within the de-selected OU will be deactivated in Okta. That also applies to nested OUs - deselecting a high level OU will automatically deselect sub-OUs beneath it (but you could deselect a high level OU, then select the sub-OU separately).

    Hi Greg,

I believe this message prompts because of changes, not specifically because you're adding an OU for sync, as a warning.

Thats what I think, too. But it would be nice to be certain before I click "save" 🙂
