Is there a way to reset IDP when users enter their email address wrong the first time?

Some of our users are entering in their username/email address wrong during IDP on the Okta login page. Is there a way to send them back to the correct tenant? Right now, they get stuck.

Steps to recreate:

  • Enter their email address wrong and get sent to the wrong tenant.
  • Get a login error.
  • Users realize their mistake and correct their username in the current tenant.
  • They are stuck since they can't authenticate on current tenant. Ideally, once they correct their email address, IDP will move them to the correct tenant.

Is there a way to reset IDP? We are using a custom login page hosted by Okta.

Any ideas would be helpful.

  • Alex here with Okta's Support Team. I would suggest you open a ticket with us as this would be highly dependent on how you have this custom sign on page customized.
