asuz5 (asuz5) asked a question.

When I enable scheduled imports, I no longer get results with the Import Now button in Directory Integrations

When I turn on the "Schedule Import" (every hour, for instance), this seems to change the behavior of the Import Now button in Directory Integrations. For example, in this configuration, if I update a security group in AD, and hit Import Now, Okta does not make the modification to the group (and reports 0 groups changed). If I turn off the "Schedule import", the manual import works as expected. The documentation doesn't indicate that these two functions are mutually exclusive.

I want to be able to force an import with Import Now, and still have a scheduled import run every few hours or so. Anyone have experience with this?

I should mention explicitly that this is Okta integrated w/ an On-Premise Active Directory

  • Hello Luke,

Thank you for posting your question in our community. The scheduled import should not affect the “Import now” option in Okta in anyway. The scheduled import will perform the import in the interval you have specified and the Import Now option will perform the import the moment you click on the option.

That being said from the looks of your issue it seems that since you have the scheduled import set to 1 hour it regularly performs the import and there is no new data to import when you select the Import now and hence you see the report as (Zero groups changed).

If you still have any questions and or need more clarifications on this kindly contact support. Thank you.
