Okta admin setting change log

We are looking for a way to access logs of when an admin changes account settings but cannot find anything on this. For example, if I am an admin and I go to "Admin - Applications - Self Service - Settings - User App Requests" and I toggle the "Allow users to add org-managed apps" option and save, is there an internal log item saved somewhere that shows I made that change? We need this sort of activity tracking and accountability within out team and organization workflow.

  • Hi Scott,

The events that Okta logs can all be found in our System Log API documentation, which can be found here: https://developer.okta.com/docs/api/resources/system_log

If there is no call that returns a particular event type (such as the ones mentioned in your question), the System Log UI in your Okta Admin dashboard will not be logging those particular events.

In this situation, the best course of action is to open a Feature Request to ask for the functionality you are looking for to be added to Okta down the line. This can be done on the Okta Community page by using the 'Feedback' option at the bottom of the Okta admin console, once on the Community page go to Ideas -> Post Idea.

    Thank You,
