Hi, I'm encountering some problems trying to disable the request of "Security Question" during the user registration process.
In the documentation page (https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Directory/eu-self-service.htm?cshid=ext_Directory_Self_Service_Registration) I found these instructions:
To disable security questions, do the following:
Note: The steps below must be completed for each active policy (Default, Legacy, etc.).
- From the Administrative Dashboard, hover over the Security drop-down menu.
- Choose Authentication.
- Click the Edit button to make changes.
- Scroll down to Account Recovery.
- Uncheck Security question under the Additional self-service recovery option.
But following the path the option that I wish to uncheck is not present.
Did I miss something?

Hi Devops,
that link is for when you use the selfservice sign on pages okta has for CIAM.
I found a similar question where it stated that you need to ask support to turn on the check to turn off the security question:
https://support.okta.com/help/s/question/0D50Z00008dlA11SAE/remove-recovery-question-and-answer-forgot-password-api
i think that will help!
Hi Devops,
Thank you for posting on our Community Page. If you don't have the option to uncheck the Recovery Question, it probably needs to be enabled. I recommend to open a Support ticket with us, in order to enable this option.
Thank you,
