GregH.00578 (Customer) asked a question.

Prompt for MFA options

We have some users in the far east that complain that they are getting prompted for credentials in the middle of the day. In the application signon rules, we have the MFA set to prompt for fact "Once a Day". The AD agent for these users is in the UK, and our Head Office is in the Eastern Time Zone.

The issue happens at -5 to -6 UTC, which corresponds to midnight in EDT, so it seems likely that this is the culprit. Is there a "once every 24 hours" option?

  • Hi Greg,

Thank you very much for your question, As far as a browser logged into Okta goes, the MFA 24 hour session would be cookie based in said browser cache starting at the last time the user logged in. It does not sound like the MFA settings is probably causing this issue.  I think this issue probably warrants more digging and reviewing of logs, I would suggest you open a ticket directly with support for assistance tracking this  down.
