hai,
currently we have third party application which are not available on the app list in okta.so we are looking to use 'Authenticating Against an External SAML IdP' concept in okta document.but there is lot of terms like identity providers ,service providers which are makes some confuses.if we use okta as identity provider how we get the service provider details?is it our thirt party app or anything need to configure externally?if it possible ,can you give whole picture about it??

If the application supports authentication from an Identity Provider and SAML then you should be able to set this up.
Instructions can be found here: https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Apps/Apps_App_Integration_Wizard.htm
Follow the section for "The SAML App Wizard"
Okta is an "identity provider" and the third party application is the "service provider" You would configure part of the application in Okta and you would need to get some details from the application to provide to Okta, such as the Single Sign On URL. Okta will then provide you with some information to put into the application, including the Identity provider certificate.
