msqjx (msqjx) asked a question.
I've deployed the Okta plug-in via SCCM per the documentation on Okta's site. The plug-in looks as though it installs from SCCM-Software Catalog. The problem is that when I open Edge I don't get the pop-out window asking if I want to "turn it on" meaning Okta plug-in. I also don't see the blue circle icon for Okta within Edge. We've removed the Windows Store via PowerShell. Is there a workaround for this?

Hi Brian,
Thank you for contacting Okta Community! Currently, the only way to install the Edge Okta Plugin is through the Microsoft Store, this is a known limitation for the Edge browser. According to Microsoft documentation, "the Edge Extensions, available exclusively from the Microsoft Store, are the only supported mechanism to modify the end-user experience of Microsoft Edge, including the browser configuration and the content displayed in the browser. Any other mechanism that impacts the configuration of Microsoft Edge, or the content that the browser displays, unless explicitly listed in this document is unsupported."
More information around this limitation can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/extensions/microsoft-browser-extension-policy
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
