Integration of existing JIra & Service Desk with Okta

Hi,

My first question(s) to the community on the first day of trying to use Okta...

I have an existing Jira instance with Service Desk. This has been running for years and has hundreds of existing users (some just Jira, some Jira & Service Desk, some Agents, some just customers) that use the bundled internal Jira user directory. We also have a Confluence system that uses the same user directory.

We have just developed a completely new product that uses Okta (Pro ID) for login. We have had a really bright idea that we could integrate this new product, Okta and Service Desk to allow users to have a single sign-on from the new product through to the Service Desk if they need to report an issue.

So my really basic questions are:

  1. Does Okta support Service Desk. I've found an old post here which seems to suggest not.
  2. Can I keep all the existing Jira users still using the custom-user-name Jira internal directory and add new users (of our new product) that will have single sign on via Okta. Or do I have to add all the existing users in Okta as well?

Thanks for your consideration,

Dave

  • My name is Tyrone to answer your question Don't think they have a SAML Audience only for that, However you can add a SWA App. I would highly Recommend you open a case to learn more.
