6misd (6misd) asked a question.

maximize the chicklet size
Are there any tricks to getting the home made application chicklets to fit the tile completely? I have gone through and modified the pixel size based on the recomendation, (104px by 37px), seems to make little to no difference at all.End users are complaining they cant read the icon, if they were full tile size, would be much better. Thank you.

  • Thank you for reaching out to Okta Support, my name is Adrian and I'll be handling your case.

At this point, there is no other way to customize the chiclet's icon size. The only requirements are:
    • Must be PNG, JPG, or GIF
    • Can't exceed 1400px by 400px
    • Less than 100k
     And for best results :
    • Use an image that is less than 104px by 37px to prevent scaling
    • Use a .png with a transparent background
If you would like a method to maximize the icon so that it can fit the entire tile then the best route to pursue this is via a feature request.  The best way to file feature requests would be from the community site. I have outlined the steps below.

    To Create a Feature Requests:
    • Go to support.okta.com
    • Click on "Go to Ideas" in the center of the screen where it says Submit an Idea
    • Go to the upper right side of the screen and click on "Post Idea".
    • Add the Title, Description and the related category and then click on "Post".
    • Once feature requests are submitted they are visible to other Okta admins, who can vote on them to provide more visibility.  Using this method will allow you to maintain visibility on your feature requests throughout the process.

Adrian (Okta) - someone in Okta who is creating the OIN apps already knows the answer. We would also like to make our custom apps more appealing to users and have the same challenges - this isn't a feature request, but instead is a question of "what image size doe Okta use for the OIN apps to make them fill the entire chicklet?".

Any further update on this request?
