How do I trigger Email notifications for confirming events: Password Reset and Account Creation?
We want to trigger automated email via Okta when a user has completed important activities such as: 
  • Password Reset (You just reset your password, if you did not do this, please contact....)
  • Account Creation (You created a new account with us. YaY! Keep your password safe. Here's all the great things you can do here....)
 We feel these add value to our users and welcome them to our personalized website. I see a little bit of information on Lifecycle management as an upsell feature and lots of generic info on customizing email html.

 

We would like some help with how to identify and create the triggers in Okta and then assign the email to that event.

I'm not a developer, but I work with them and am trying to do some of the research leg work.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

    For the moment we can offer you as a admin the possibility to edit the email template sent when  user  request a password reset or other  actions . 

     

    We did not implemented yet a default email confrimation for completed tasks. 

     

    If you would like to see such functionality in Okta the best route to pursue this is via a feature request.  The best way to file feature requests would be from the community site. I have outlined the steps below.

     

    To Create a Feature Requests:

     

    Go to support.okta.com

    Click on "Community" in the center of the screen

    Scroll down to the section titles "Make a Feature Request," click the "Go to Ideas" button.

    Enter your tenant name and click "Go"

    Sign in and submit the feature request.

    Once feature requests are submitted they are visible to other Okta admins, who can vote on them to provide more visibility.  Using this method will allow you to maintain visibility on your feature requests throughout the process.

    HI Vasile,

    thanks for the quick response.

    What do you mean exactly when you say "edit the email template sent when  user  request a password reset or other  actions"? Is this limited to specific "actions"? Can you talk more about this?

    We are utilizing the API features to customize the front end user experience, so would it be possible for us to trigger an email within okta with an api call?
