Skype for Business asking for credentials with Exchange Online

I am using SfB with Office 2016 (ie modern auth enabled by default). Based on this article it appears SfB support pass through auth (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/connect/active-directory-aadconnect-pass-through-authentication-current-limitations). We use Okta so not sure how this all should work with this iDP. SfB client is asking for credentials for Exhcnage Online (on initial login and password changes)

Hi,

The Skype for business application does not have modern authentication enabled by default in O365, this in effect causing a credential prompt.
When it comes to Skype for Business this requires some additional configurations in order to allow the modern authentication flow. Modern authentication allows it to use 3rd parties to authenticate, essentially allowing Okta to be used for authentication in your case.

The following article explains how this can be enabled.

In order to sue Skype for business powershell you will need to download the modules which can be obtained from here:

Once done you can connect to the Skype for business module via the commands listed here:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn362795.aspx

After implementing the change , you should be able to fully use the Modern Authentication for SfB as well.
