SSO for apps that use Sign-in with Google
Hi All,

I am wondering what's the best way to integrate an application (say app_A) for SSO, which has been setup with "Sign in with Google"? (Google Apps will be added to Okta with SAML). However, I am wondering how would be the UX when the user clicks on chiclet for app_A.

Thanks,

Jatin

  • Hi Jatin,

Although, what you are doing should technoially work, from my experiance it would be more consistant to add app_A to Okta so it's federated with Okta and not Google. This way, when troubleshooting issues you have one less varaible to consider. This will also give your users a consistance user experiance.

    Thanks James.

Yes, I do plan to add the app_A chiclet in Okta once I get some clarity on this integration.

    Questions:

    1. Can you please elaborate on your statement: "... so it's federated with Okta and not Google".

    2. What should be the SSO mechanism chosen for app_A, since neither SAML nor SWA are applicable.

    Thanks,

    Jatin
