On the provisioning page of the NetSuite app, are admin credentials required?
On the provisioning page of the NetSuite app, I get an invalid credentials error when entering credentials of a user without an admin role and testing the connection.  When I give that same user an admin role, the test works fine (same credentials and same user, only the NetSuite role is changed to be admin).  Is an admin role required for provisioning via Okta?  I'd rather not give admin credentials to the user if they're only going to be importing employees.

  • Hello Patrick,

On the provisioning page for the NetSuite application you need to insert an user that has Admin access on the NetSuite Application itself, the user does not need Administrator Access to Okta or anything of the sort. The provisioning feature needs to have admin credentials in order to create/update or deactivate users on NetSuite (that depends on the features you select via the provisioning tab on the application).

For the provisioning you can just create a user in NetSuite and give him Administrator rights and just leave it there, there is no need to have the user Active within NetSuite or within Okta. It can just act as a Service account.
