Directory Integrations - AD - Import
What would be the best proccess to handle the following situation:
  1. AD user created
  2. Okta-AD Sync happens
  3. AD user created in step one is found to be setup incorrectly and has to be deleted from AD to fix issue
    1. In between Okta-AD Sync times, user account is re-created in the correct order with the same information: SamAccountName, UPN, Email address ect..

  4. Now in Dicrectory Integrations under Import we receive a conflict message
  5. The main questions are:
    1. Do we ignore the message since there is already an Okta account there?
      1. Would this cause any known issues?

    2. Do we delete the Okta account and wait for another snyc?
    3. Do we remove the AD account, wait for Okta to sync and then recreate?

Thank you for any assistance in this.

  • Hey Derek,

If this is a new user account that is being created, I would probably just suggest to delete the old Okta Account, and Re-Import the User from AD to create a new one. You can either wait for the Sync, or just manually run an Import under Directory > Directory Integrations (select AD instance) > Import Tab: Import Now button.

    Hope this helps!
