logon.aspx file missing error when login using SWA
We have OWA setup as a SWA app. For certain users we are receiving 404 error when login using OKTA. It works fine if the user goes directly to the OWA url and login. Here is the error trace -

  1.  OWA version: 14.3.301.0 Exception Exception type: System.Web.HttpException Exception message: The file '/owa/owa/auth/logon.aspx' does not exist. Call stack System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists(VirtualPath virtualPath) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVirtualPathObjectFactory(VirtualPath virtualPath, HttpContext context, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean noAssert) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(VirtualPath virtualPath, Type requiredBaseType, HttpContext context, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean noAssert) System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory.GetHandlerHelper(HttpContext context, String requestType, VirtualPath virtualPath, String physicalPath) System.Web.HttpApplication.MaterializeHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously)
I am going to have our AD admin to reset the virtual directory as a first step but wanted to check if anyone else has seen this.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Pranjal, if /owa/owa/auth/logon.aspx link was change on OWA you must update the Okta SWA app with the new OWA sign in link.
