Office 365 license sync with OKTA
As we're already using O365, we've assigned licenses to user accounts.

 

Now we are planning to use OKTA for Office365 license/role management and dirsync for user provisioning. 

 

In OKTA,i can add assign licenses to user but how do we sync already assigned licenses?

 

Let's say a user already has Exchange online(Plan 2) , Azure rights management and Sharepoint Online(Plan2) license. While assigning license in OKTA, how should we update OKTA on already assigned license? 

 

Should we need to re-assign all licenses?

Any impact?

    Hi Parth,

    When making the switch to Okta managed licence assignment, for all users that are already exist in Office 365, you'll have to set the same linces in Okta.

    To ease your initial licence assignment, you could run an import from Office 365 which will bring all users in O365 in Okta and set their O365 app assignment with their current lincences and roles.

    Thanks Emanuel.

     

    Performed import and i can see some users assigned with assigned license but this is imported from office365.

     

    Now if i plan to move them to OKTA with each AD group mapped to OKTA-Office365 connector with a role and license, how good will it work?
