Not getting reset password url in the mail triggered by forgot password link
when I am cliking forgot password link and entering my email id the mail which I am receiving  from Okta does not containtain the reset password url, It showing that only administrator can change the password although It is my admin account.

  • Hi Vishal,

It sounds like you have a password policy that does not allow users to perform self-service password resets, which includes you. The password policies can be accessed from the Okta admin panel -> Security -> Authentication -> Password tab. Here you can create or edit policies and rules that apply to them. If you are not allowed to perform self-service password resets based on the rules here you will see that message when using the forgot password link. To avoid this in the future you can change or disable the policy or exclude yourself from the rule. More information about password policies can be found at https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Security/Security_Policies.html (https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Security/Security_Policies.htm)

If you are the only admin and are locked out of your account or need any more help with this I would recommend raising your issue via the Open a Case button on the Okta Help center (https://support.okta.com/help)
