Inbound SAML - Metadata URL
Hello,

We are federating our Okta tenant with our partner via an inbound SAML configuration (Where our Okta tenant is the service provider). I see that I can download the metadata.xml file, but is it also possible to provide a metadata URL that our partner can freely access? Currently, the "Download Metadata" hyperlink requires an admin session to access.

If I make changes to the IdP configuration, will I need to then provide the new downloaded metadata.xml file to our partner?

Thank you.

  •  Hi Travis,

This is Bogdan from Okta support.

Currently the Metadata link cannot be accessed via the link without an active session as you mentioned.

The best approche for this issue would be to provide the Metadata to the IDP if any changes are done to the config in Okta.

Please review the following Kb (https://help.okta.com/en/prev/Content/Topics/Security/Identity_Providers.htm?Highlight=inbound%20SAML) for additional details, if you have any issues or questions please open a support ticket with us.
