Real time user synchronization
Hi, Is there any way to import and create users in Okta at the same time when users are created in AD. Regards,Tanay
- j5v7c (j5v7c)There are some near real-time sync capabilities with Okta, but not as you describe. If you had created a new user in AD, you could ask that user to go to the Okta login page and login with their newly created AD Username and Password, and they would be created in real-time as part of a first time login process. You could also force a scheduled import using the Okta AD agent to import and optionally auto activate the newly created AD users. Also if a user's profile has been updated in AD, for example a telephone number or address change, then when the administrator re-samples the user's profile (without prforming a scheduled import) in the admin console a real-time update of the user's AD profile will be synchorised to the Okta attributes.Expand Post

- miqxq (miqxq)Curious what "when the administrator re-samples the user's profile" means? How does one "re-sample" a user's profile? This sounds like it could be hepful...
- j5v7c (j5v7c)Hi Eric Sorry in only just coming back to this. re-sample, means if the admin user goes to the Directory, People tab, and re-selects the particular user (when the JIT feature has been enabled in the AD agent config). This will get the agent to pass back the very latest information about the selected user. Hope that makes sense.Expand Post
