  •   The AWS in OIN stands for AWS Console, which let’s you sign-on with SWA to your AWS console. AWS Console is a web application that comprises and refers to a broad collection of service consoles for managing Amazon Web Services. The Console facilitates cloud management for all aspects of your AWS account, including monitoring your monthly spending by service, managing security credentials, or even setting up new IAM Users; also, it requires an existing AWS account.

This is the login page for AWS console: https://console.aws.amazon.com/console/home

The Amazon Web Services App (with SAML) allows end users to authenticate to one or more AWS accounts and gain access to specific roles using single sign-on with SAML. Okta admins have the ability to download roles from one or more AWS into Okta, and assign those to users. In addition, Okta admins can also set the duration of the authenticated session of users via Okta.
