Do I need to log into the Okta Community to use Okta Ideas?

Yes, you must log in to the Okta Community to access Ideas. You can navigate to Okta Ideas from within the Okta Help Center by going to the Community dropdown and selecting Ideas. Please note that only customers, partners, and employees may submit, vote, and comment on Ideas.

What are some best practices for Okta Ideas?

  • Search first! Your suggestion may already have been submitted by another customer.
  • If a similar Idea doesn’t exist yet, be sure to enter a clear and descriptive title and fill in the details. ProTip: Please make sure you’re thoroughly answering the questions in your submission. The more we know about your Idea, the more accurate we can be when reviewing your Idea
  • Vote or comment on others’ Ideas that are important to you. You can also click “Subscribe” to stay in the loop.
  • Prioritize the Ideas you created + voted on so our product team understands what matters the most to you.
  • Stay up to date with the status & relevant information of your Ideas

What are the new Idea status definitions?

  • Not Reviewed: This Idea is newly submitted and is pending review by the Okta Community Team.
  • Awaiting Feedback: This Idea has been reviewed by the Ideas moderator and is now open for the Community to vote, prioritize, and add additional detail in the comments section. If your Idea received enough engagement by the Community it will be passed on to our Product Management Team for review and consideration in our product roadmap. An Idea will stay in this status until a product manager identifies it as an Idea that he or she would like to add to the roadmap
  • Not at this time: The Idea/feature request doesn’t fit into our current Okta product strategy or didn’t reach a sufficient level of Community engagement. You can learn more about what we’re currently working on by visiting our product roadmap: https://support.okta.com/help/s/productroadmap
  • Product Review: The Idea has been passed onto our product team for review and consideration in our product roadmap.
  • On the Roadmap: The Idea is on the roadmap under active development and delivery is planned. The Idea status will be updated when the feature is ready for release. Note: Though this is planned for release, no time commitments are made using Okta Ideas. For more information please reference the Okta Product Roadmap.
  • Released: The Idea has been delivered and is generally available. No further updates will be made to the Idea.

What happens next?

Your Idea will be reviewed by the Okta Community Team to determine if a similar Idea has been submitted. Duplicate ideas will be removed or merged so we encourage you to search for your request in Okta Ideas. After your idea passes an initial review, it will be available for the Community to vote and comment on. (NOTE: Votes are an important signal to our team about the demand for a feature or enhancement, and we consider them when building our roadmap). Ideas that receive enough engagement in the Community when will be reviewed by the Product Team for roadmap consideration. Official responses will be posted in the Ideas portal so you can easily see the status of your feature request and exactly where it is in the lifecycle.

My Idea hasn't been reviewed yet and I submitted it 6+ months ago. What can I do?

If we haven't reviewed your item yet and it is a high priority for you:

  • Make sure it's at the top of your priority list
  • Make sure your request is clear. Why do you need this? What is it stopping you from doing? What is the impact of that? Please add these details in a comment on your Idea.
  • Promote your Idea within the Okta Community and other social channels to generate more votes!

  1. 5blsg and f6kpy like this.
  2. Need SLO for Azure AD. I have added Okta as an External Identity using SAML in Azure AD. This is all working but, when I try to logout a guest user of Okta, the user will logout from the azure but the Okta session of that user is still active. So, when I try to login with another guest user Okta will automatically returns the previous one. Need to resolve this
