Overview
This article explains why Okta Verify causes permanent notifications on Android devices.

Cause
The persistent notification appears because Android shows a notification by default for any app that runs a service.
For Okta Verify, the service does not impact battery life and helps the app know when to prompt for verification.
Solution
Persistent notifications can be safely turned off by going to System Settings > Apps > Okta Verify > Notifications and turning off the Okta FastPass notification category.
To not break Okta Verify’s ability to prompt for verification, do not disable notifications for the entire app.
NOTE: Some Android devices may not see this allow/block notifications feature. Please ensure they are running the updated OS version.
