Overview

When performing a Microsoft Office 365 import in Okta, the process fails if the API connection uses invalid Global Administrator credentials. Re-authenticating the integration with valid credentials in the Okta Admin Console resolves this issue. Administrators encounter the following error during the import process:

Cause

The Microsoft Office 365 import fails because the Global Administrator credentials used to establish the API connection are invalid.

Solution

How is the AADSTS50126 Microsoft Office 365 import credential error resolved?

 

Re-authenticate the Microsoft Office 365 integration in the Okta Admin Console using valid Global Administrator credentials to restore the API connection and successfully complete the import.

  1. Sign in to the Okta Admin Console.
  2. Go to Applications and select Applications.
  3. Search for and select the Microsoft Office 365 application.
  4. Navigate to the Provisioning tab and select Integration.
  5. Select Edit.
  6. Select Re-authenticate with Microsoft Office 365.
    NOTE: Disable any web browser pop-up blockers before performing this step to allow the Microsoft Azure login page to open.
  7. Sign in to the Microsoft Azure account using valid Office 365 Global Administrator credentials.
  8. Read and accept the requested permissions to redirect back to Okta.
  9. Enter the same Office 365 Global Administrator credentials on the Integration page.
  10. Select Test API Credentials to verify the connection.
  11. Select Save.
  12. Initiate the import process again to confirm successful completion.
