Machine Assignments Tab Is Missing From Okta Application Settings

The Machine Assignments tab does not appear in the application settings when the "Okta for AI" feature is disabled, the organization uses Okta Classic Engine, the application lacks support, or the application uses Secure Web Authentication (SWA) instead of Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0. Verify the organization and application requirements to resolve the issue. This missing tab prevents the configuration of Cross App Access (XAA) or Brokered Consent between an AI Agent and an application.

The Machine Assignments tab does not appear for one of the following reasons:

• The "Okta for AI" feature is not enabled for the organization.
• The organization uses Okta Classic Engine. Okta for AI capabilities require OIE.
• The OIN application does not support XAA or Brokered Consent.
• The application uses SWA instead of SAML 2.0 for the sign-on method.

How are the organization requirements verified?

Review the organization configuration to ensure the environment supports the required features by verifying these conditions:

• Verify that the organization uses OIE.
• Verify that the "Okta for AI" feature is enabled for the organization. This can be confirmed by the Okta Account Executive.

Verify the Application Requirements When Using an App From the OIN

Search the OIN catalog for the application, verify the supported features, and configure the sign-on method by following these steps:

1. Search for the application in the OIN and select it.
2. Scroll to the Functionality section.
3. Verify that the application has Cross App Access or Brokered Consent selected under AI Agents. If neither feature is selected, the application does not support the connection. 
4. Add the integration and select SAML 2.0 as the sign-on option. The Machine Assignments tab does not appear when the application uses SWA for the sign-on method.

NOTE: The Machine Assignments tab was named Resource Server prior to release 2026.09.2.
