When a new Okta user account is created with the user activation flow initiated, the new Okta user will receive a "Welcome to Okta" new user activation email, which includes a user account activation link that is valid for 7 days by default. An Okta Super Administrator user can change the Activation Email expiration period by following the steps below:
- Navigate to the Okta Admin Console.
- Click on Security.
- Click on General from this menu.
- Scroll down to the Organization Security section.
- Click the Edit button and apply the desired changes for Activation Emails are valid for which is set to 7 days by default.
NOTE: This is an organization-wide security setting that will apply to all Okta new users' welcome emails company-wide rather than to a dedicated group of new Okta users.
