Genesys Cloud provisioning flow fails with the following error visible in the Okta dashboard:
Automatic provisioning of user <username> to app Genesys Cloud failed: Error while creating user <username>: Bad Request. Errors reported by remote server: Password supplied with request failed to meet organization password policy; PubApiError[status=400,code=INVALID_PASSWORD, message=User was created successfully but the provided password does not meet requirements]; contextId:[ <contextId> ]
- Genesys Cloud
- Provisioning
- Error
This error is generated because the Password supplied with the request failed to meet the organization password policy on the Genesys Cloud side.
-
For the Genesys app specifically, the setting Set password when creating new users under Provisioning > To App > Create Users allows setting the password when creating a new user.
-
If setting a password when creating a new user is not desired, go to Okta Admin Console and navigate to Applications > Applications > Genesys Cloud > Provisioning > To App > click the Edit button.
-
Check if the setting "Set password when creating new users" is enabled. And uncheck this setting if setting a password is not desired when creating a new user from Okta to Genesys Cloud.
-
Once the option is unchecked, Set password when creating new users setting and click Save.
-
Afterward, attempt the user provisioning again. Navigate to Dashboard > Tasks. Any failed assignments should appear under Tasks.
-
After identifying the failed task for the user that should be retried, click Retry Selected.
