Overview

Okta lacks a built-in report for self service password recovery metrics. The user can generate a Comma-Separated Values (CSV) log file of all password recoveries performed in the past 90 days using the System Log. This file serves auditing purposes and tracks feature usage.

How is the self-service password recovery report generated?

 

Follow these steps to generate a log file of password recovery usage:

  1. Navigate to the Admin Console.

  2. Go to Reports and select System Log.

  3. Set the time period for the log file. NOTE: The maximum time period is 90 days.

  4. Enter the following query in the Search field:

legacyEventType eq "core.user_auth.self_service.password_reset.issued_recovery_token"

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon or press the enter key.

  2. Select Download CSV.
