In Okta Identity Engine (OIE), the Profile Enrollment feature manages the self-service registration process. Administrators can create a profile enrollment policy to enable self-service registration or progressive enrollment for users and customize the enrollment experience.

Enable self-service registration in Okta Identity Engine by navigating to the user profile policies, editing the default policy, and allowing self-service registration.
- In the Admin Console, go to Security > User Profile Policies.
- Locate the Default Policy and select the Edit (pencil) icon. Alternatively, create a new profile policy by selecting Add user profile policy.
- On the Enrollment tab, select Edit in the Profile Enrollment section.
- Change Self-service registration to Allowed.
- (Optional) Enable Email verification to require users to verify their identity before the account is activated.
- Under Add user to group, enter the name of the group new users should join.
- Select Save to apply the changes.
Profile enrollment policies in the Okta Identity Engine manage self-service registration to customize the user enrollment experience. The Profile enrollment form determines which attributes Okta prompts the users for during registration.
