What is the Okta Business Value Snapshot?

The Okta Business Value Snapshot is a quarterly 1-pager demonstrating how the organization's usage of Okta has driven value for business by mitigating risk, increasing employee productivity, and understanding user activity.
 

How to access the Business Value Snapshot?

To access the reports through the Okta Support Center:

  1. Sign in to the Okta Support Center.
  2. Click on the profile photo dropdown menu.
  3. Select My success hub.
  4. Click on View reports under My personalized reports.

 

What is the difference between the old and new value snapshots released in November 2023? 

The business value snapshot has been updated to accommodate new data points reflecting usage of LCM, MFA, Workflows, FastPass, ThreatInsight, and more.


What Okta products are reflected in the usage metrics? 

The data in the report reflects the organization's usage of SSO (Single Sign-On), MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), Workflows, and LCM (Lifecycle Management), if applicable.

 

What date range does this report reflect? 

The lookback metrics in the report reflect the last 90 days from the report date, except for the top apps used, which ranks apps based on whether an employee accessed them via Okta at least once in the last 30 days.
  

Who receives these reports?

A link to the report will be sent to super administrators, executive sponsors, and the organization's main Okta contacts. 
 

Will I receive this report on an ongoing basis?

Yes. This program will be received on a recurring quarterly cadence.
 

How to see what threats were blocked or what IPs were detected? 

You can query this information from the System Log. Navigate to Reports > System Log from the Okta Admin console and use the query eventType eq "security.threat.detected".
 

How to view and modify my MFA policies so more employees are accessing Okta with multi-factor authentication? 

View and modify MFA policies by navigating to Security > Multifactor > Factor Enrollment from the Okta admin console.
 

The value snapshot report is not visible in the reports. How to get a value snapshot?

Value snapshots are automatically provided to all customers with a Silver Success entitlement who own Workforce Identity Cloud or Customer Identity Solution products with our standard baseline SKUs*. Gold customers should contact their Customer Success Manager to request the value snapshot.

NOTE: Must have been deployed for at least 90 days to receive the snapshot.

If a snapshot is expected but has not been received, please email digitalcustomersuccess@okta.com.

*Baseline SKUs include “Single Sign-On” for Workforce Identity Cloud and “Enterprise SSO” for Customer Identity Solutions
