Overview

Administrators must use the Okta Integration Network (OIN) Wizard tool in an Okta Integrator Free Plan organization to submit a custom application, such as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), OpenID Connect (OIDC), or Lifecycle Management (LCM) provisioning, to the OIN App Catalog. Sign up for an Okta Integrator Free Plan organization, access the OIN Wizard in the Okta Admin Console, and follow the step-by-step guidance to build, test, and submit the new custom application.

Applies To

  • Okta Identity Engine (OIE)
  • Okta Classic Engine
  • Okta Integration Network (OIN)
  • Okta Integration Network Wizard
  • Integrator Free Plan Tenant
  • Custom and third-party application publishing submission

Solution

How does an administrator add a new application to the Okta Integration Network?

Create an Okta Integrator Free Plan organization, navigate to the integrations section in the Okta Admin Console, and complete the wizard prompts to submit a new custom application.

  1. Sign up for a free Okta Integrator Free Plan organization instance if an instance does not already exist at Okta Developer.
  2. Sign in to the organization with the Okta Administrator role used to meet the OIN Wizard Role requirements.
  3. Navigate to Okta Admin Console > Applications > Your OIN Integrations.
  4. Select Build new OIN integration.
  5. Follow the OIN application integration wizard with step-by-step guidance on how to start building the new custom application for the integration, perform testing, and submit the application for review and publishing. Refer to the OIN Wizard Requirements for full details.

Contact the Okta Developers Team directly at developers@okta.com for questions or additional support to publish the application integration.

NOTE:

  • Read the OIN Submission Requirements and OIN limitations before starting.
  • The Okta OIN team reviews all submissions on a best-case basis. If the Okta OIN team identifies any issues in the initial review and Quality Assurance (QA) testing phases, Okta sends an email with specific details. Check the status of the submission on the Your OIN Integrations page in the Okta Admin Console at any point in the process.
  • Use the Developer account to log in and make modifications to edit an existing live OIN application. Submit the updated integration using the same Integrator Free Plan organization used to make the original submission; otherwise, the Okta OIN team rejects the update.
  • Administrators can use the App Integration Wizard to configure any Secure Web Authentication (SWA), SAML, or OIDC applications for internal applications.
