Administration

Overview

When a user tries to log in to Okta with the correct prefix in the username but a different suffix, the following event is seen:

Sign-in Failed - Not Specified.

Applies To

  • Suspicious Activity Report

Solution

This commonly occurs when the user has a different suffix in the email than the username, and they use the email suffix instead of the one specified in the username.

For example, an end user with a username of john.doe@abc.com and email of john.doe@xyz.com uses the email (john.doe@xyz.com) and not the username.
