RingCentral error

Applies To

  • System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)
  • Okta Integration Network (OIN)
Cause

With the feedback provided by RingCentral developers, it was identified as a potential issue with Okta's OAuth functionality. Specifically, it was observed that Okta is sending an unsupported Accept header, which is believed to be the root cause of the OAuth issues being experienced. This indicates that the way Okta handles the Accept header might not align with the expectations or requirements of RingCentral's integration, leading to complications in the OAuth process.

Solution

To resolve the encountered issue, it is necessary to generate a new refresh token by reauthenticating the API Integration. This can be accomplished by following the steps below:

  1. Access the RingCentral Application and navigate to the Provisioning section.
  2. Locate the Integration tab within the application.
  3. Within the Integration tab, initiate the Re-authenticate with RingCentral task.

By performing these steps, Admins will trigger a reauthentication process for the API Integration associated with RingCentral. This action will generate a fresh refresh token, which is essential for maintaining secure and seamless communication between Okta and RingCentral. The new refresh token will replace the existing one and help address any authentication-related issues that were encountered.
