Ensuring the Latest Version of the Sign-In Widget Is Used

Overview
By default, the Sign-In Widget will upgrade to the latest version when a new upgrade occurs. Modify this setting by choosing a specific version to avoid breaking any customizations made. In some cases, Okta Admins may want to stop using a specific version and revert to the default setting to auto-upgrade when new versions are released. This article describes how to revert to the default setting.

Solution
  1. Log in to the Admin dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Customizations > Brands.
  3. Select the brand to modify.
  4. On the selected Brand page, go to the Pages tab.

  1. On the Sign in page, navigate to the Settings tab.
  2. Locate the Sign-In Widget version section and click the Edit button.

  1. To configure the widget to use the latest version and automatically update to new versions, choose the asterisk (*) from the version dropdown menu. Alternatively, an Admin can choose to automatically upgrade the widget to any new minor version that is released while still preventing the widget from automatically updating to new major versions. For example, to automatically upgrade to any minor version of version 7, choose ^7 from the version menu.

  2. Click the Save to Draft button, then Publish.
