Overview

This article describes how to locate the setting to enable or disable account lockout emails for end users.

Solution

Follow the steps below based on the specific Okta engine version.

 

Okta Identity Engine (OIE)

  1. Sign in to the Admin Dashboard.

  2. Go to Security > Authenticators.

  3. Locate the Password authenticator and click Actions > Edit.

  4. Select the password policy to modify and locate the Password Settings section.

  5. Select or clear the Send Lockout Email to User checkbox.

  6. Click Save.

Okta Classic Engine

  1. Sign in to the Admin Dashboard.

  2. Go to Security > Authentication.

  3. Select the password policy to modify and locate the Password Settings section.

  4. Select or clear the Send Lockout Email to User checkbox.

  5. Click Save.
