400 Bad Request Error when Using the Workflows Google "Update Group Settings" Connector Card

Overview

When using the Google Workspace Update Group Settings connector card, Google expects a number of input fields to run the request successfully. If these fields are not selected in the card setup, a 400 Bad Request error may be seen.

Cause

MISSING Input Fields. This is caused by not selecting all of the required fields by Google.

Example 400 Error - When only selecting Who can Join INPUT Field:

Solution

Solution (Pre-Requisites) 

  • Ensure that all of the options required by Google are selected in the Input Fields section.
  • NOTE: There may be a few minutes delay for changes to reflect in Google Groups settings.
  • Here's an example screenshot of what needs to be selected at the MINIMUM for Google to accept the update group settings call.
