AaronC.05819 (Customer) asked a question.

Trying to make myself an admin in my own Okta instance.

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to the community and I created my own Okta instance, but I'm not able to make any changes on the admin side. I don't see any way for me to make myself an admin so I can play around with some workflows. I apologize if this is super simple, but I just haven't been able to find anything online. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Hello @AaronC.05819 (Customer) Thank you for posting on our Community page!

Once you created your own Okta instance, your user has the highest level of admin.

Please see below our getting started guide for workflows:

@Paul S. (Okta, Inc.) This is very helpful, thank you so much. I think I found my issue, the free trial that I created my instance with most likely expired. In order to create another free trial, it is asking for a work email however, I no longer have access to my work email anymore. Do I have to be employed by an organization in order to create a free trial instance?

Hello @AaronC.05819 (Customer) Unfortunately the email address needs to be a Work email, either you have access to something like that or you have your own domain, I believe that should work as well.
