AD Accounts Disabled After Activation – Error “Matching User Not Found”

Hello Okta Community,

We are encountering an issue with our Oracle → Okta → Active Directory integration.

  • Source of truth: Oracle (HR system)
  • Downstream system: Active Directory
  • Process flow: User accounts are created in Oracle → imported into Okta → activated → assigned successfully to AD.

Issue:

After activation, the AD accounts are initially assigned correctly. However, after some time, the AD accounts get disabled. When checking the Import Assignment tab in Okta, there are no errors before activation. But once the user profile is activated, the following error appears:

Automatic activation of user to app Active Directory failed: Matching user not found
