Automated Okta-Snowflake Token Rotation

We use several Snowflake integrations requiring API token updates every 6 months. Is there a way to automate this rotation within Okta to eliminate manual intervention?

    Unfortunately, there is no native "auto-rotate" checkbox or built-in feature in either Snowflake or Okta to handle this automatically. At this time this is a manual process.

    Understood. Since there isn't a native toggle, we plan to automate this ourselves via a CI/CD pipeline between Snowflake and Okta.

    To move forward, we specifically need the Okta API endpoint for the Snowflake application (residing under the Applications tab). With this, we can programmatically update the client_secret or token without manual intervention.

    Additionally, could you confirm if the following are available to ensure a smooth integration:

    • Scopes: Does the API token we use for this pipeline require specific okta.apps.manage permissions?
    • Rate Limits: Are there any specific API rate limits we should be aware of for the 'Applications' endpoint?"
