Sidi-MohamedH.68645 (Customer) asked a question.
Following the recent acquisition of our company, the new ownership has decided that we will discontinue the use of Okta within our environment.
In order to properly plan and execute the decommissioning, I would like to request the necessary technical documentation and best practices for:
- Safely uninstalling or disabling Okta from our infrastructure.
- Identifying and removing dependencies (e.g., applications, integrations, AD connectors, MFA policies).
- Ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption for users.
Could you please provide the relevant guides, checklists, or any recommended procedures for a complete and secure decommissioning process?
Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello @Sidi-MohamedH.68645 (Customer) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.
If you have a paid account and wish to cancel it, you will need to discuss it with your company's assigned Okta Account Executive. They can help with everything from sorting out the financial aspects to engaging the Support team as needed.
If you are having trouble engaging with your Account Executive, please email us at community@okta.com. Include the URL of your main Okta org and the email address of the Super Admin account. We can help you get in touch with them.
Regards.

That's a whole can of worms! Unless you are moving to a new SSO Solution, you will have a hard time ensuring a secure and smooth transition. To remove the applications, you will need to turn off SSO from each of the applications which will likely send a password reset to each of those users for each of the applications and that's only a small part of it. If you are looking to ensure a smooth transition, I would work with your Okta rep to engage Okta Technical Services to help you with that process.
Sorry, it's Okta Professional Services
this is a very big project that requires technical consultants with experience. you can try to DIY it but i can assure you it won't be smooth
