Assistance Required: DNS Verification Timeout for Custom Domain (adaptauths.com)

I’m attempting to configure a custom domain for branding via Okta. Both the required TXT and CNAME DNS records have been correctly added and verified via nslookup. However, the Okta console fails with the following error:

 

“FAILURE: Timeout or error occurred in DNS setting verification”

 

Domain: adaptauths.com

TXT Record: _acme-challenge.adaptauths.com

CNAME: login.adaptauths.com → integrator-6478242.customdomains.okta.com

 

This has persisted for over 24 hours. Propagation is complete from multiple global resolvers (including 8.8.8.8). Requesting assistance in resolving the DNS timeout issue and completing domain verification.

    Issue resolved. I was trying to resolve to the root domain and not subdomain. Thanks

    From our side we do not have access to your organisation, however you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    Okta custom domain configuration failures often stem from incorrect DNS settings or mismatched configurations between DNS and Okta. Common issues include incorrect CNAME records, issues with verification TXT records, and certificate format problems. 

    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Verify DNS Configuration:

    CNAME Records: Ensure the CNAME record in your DNS settings correctly points to your Okta org's custom domain endpoint (e.g., dev-564070.customdomains.okta.com). 

    TXT Records: Double-check the TXT record for domain verification, ensuring the key and value are accurate. 

    Propagation: Allow sufficient time for DNS changes to propagate across the internet. 

    2. Align DNS and Okta Settings:

    If you're using a subdomain (e.g., www.example.com), make sure your Okta configuration also uses the subdomain, not just the root domain (e.g., example.com).

    Thanks for your prompt response. Currently my organization is not in the picture. My CNAME record is adaptauths.com. No subdomain. I am merely trying to update the DNS in Okta and receiving this message:

    The certificate could not be provisioned. Double check that your DNS entries are correct, or wait a few minutes for propagation.

    My concern is that if I'm able to verify both TXT, CNAME records externally, and they correspond accordingly with my Okta integrator-6XXXX account, then the issue lies with Okta?

    integrator-6478242.customdomains.okta.com.

    % dig +short _acme-challenge.adaptauths.com TXT

    Ill see if I can raise a ticket internally, but I don't have much faith in a resolution at this junction.
