SecN.79290 (Customer) asked a question.

Okta Verify - Deskopt MFA for Windows - Device Built-In Fingerprint Scaner

Long shot after reading through many articles, but using Okta and the Desktop MFA for Windows application integration, is there any possible use of the devices built-in fingerprint reader as an authentication method for MFA? Also, these devices have smart card readers built in.

Hello @SecN.79290 (Customer) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

In other words, you would like to use Windows Hello for Desktop MFA, is that correct? Unfortunately, that is not a viable option. For details, please see:

Okta DesktopMFA is not Compatible with Windows Hello

Configure Desktop MFA for Windows to use FIDO2 keys - includes limitations and allowed factors
